Today I visited the Mak brothers at their home in Marsiling. They are Jeremy and Shervous, age 11 and 9 respectively. It was an awesome evening together with the kids. I thought the kids would feel uneasy or a little hostile with 4 strangers (volunteers) visiting them, so i decided to buy ice-cream to get their 'buy in' but when we arrived at their doorstep, they were really friendly (not because of the ice-cream), it's their nature...
These 2 boys are so independent. At age 11, Jeremy already knows how to cook. He told me that he knows how to cook rice, porridge, steam fish and western food. He's planning to cook western food for his mum on Mother's Day (isn't he sweet)... They even plan to give their mum a box of chocolates but Jeremy ate those chocolates before it reaches his mum.
I notice that they have strong brotherhood and takes care of one another. Jeremy has a mature, caring, observant and has sense of responsibility character whereas Shervous is smarter, jovial, chatty and a little mischeivous. One thing they both share in common is that they are fillal to their mum and i hope this continues.
